Visa Inc. (V) ended the fiscal second quarter with net operating revenues of $5.1 billion, which implies a 13.0% YoY (year-over-year) increase. On a constant dollar basis, the company reported a YoY rise of 11.0% in its total payment volume in the fiscal second quarter. During the same period, the company’s YoY credit growth was 10.0% on a constant dollar basis.

Fintech Upgraded to Attractive at Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley has become the latest Wall Street brokerage to turn bullish on the financial technology sector. Morgan Stanley predicted that payment companies could grow earnings organically by an average of 15% through to 2020, up from the 11% growth registered by the sector over the past three years. Visa V has been on a tear this year, up 23 percent and leading the Dow. TradingAnalysis.com founder Todd Gordon is betting on a bigger rally for the stock when it reports earnings next week. The Digital Payments and the Global Informal Economy report, a first-of-its-kind study, measures the size of the informal economy across 60 countries over a 10-year period, and explores the role of digital payments in reducing the informal economy and boosting GDP and tax revenue in these countries. The global informal economy - legal, income-generating activities conducted off-the-books and outside of government purview - is substantial, exceeding US$10.7 trillion in value of economic activity, or 23 percent of global GDP.
