Nomura aims to boost US credit portfolio to $50 billion in 5-10 years, executive says
Nomura Holdings aims to expand its U.S. credit portfolio to $50 billion within 10 years and may seek small acquisitions to beef up its private credit business, the top Japanese investment bank's U.S. asset management chief said. The goal is line with Nomura's strategy to increase investments in private markets and diversify sources of revenue to cushion the impact from wild fluctuations in the performance of its global trading business. "We want to definitely grow this (U.S. credit) business collectively, quite substantially over the next five to 10 years to $50 billion or more" in assets under management, Robert Stark, who heads the U.S. asset management business, told Reuters in an interview.

Xue Feng filed her lawsuit on Monday in federal court in Manhattan, seeking unspecified damages for alleged violations of federal civil rights, equal pay and medical leave laws, and New York state and city human rights laws. Feng, who is known Heidi, said she had worked in Nomura's otherwise all-male Global Equities Digital Office, which she joined in August 2020 as an associate quantitative researcher after holding a similar job at JPMorgan Chase.

Nomura hires former UK treasury official as non-executive Europe chair
Japan's Nomura Holdings on Friday said it has appointed former UK treasury official Tom Scholar as non-executive chair of its European division. Scholar will succeed David Godfrey as chair of Nomura Holdings plc (NEHS), Nomura International plc (NIP) and Nomura Bank International plc (NBI) from April 10, 2024, the company said in a statement.
