Netflix stock surges above $400 in falling market as three analysts raise price targets
Netflix Inc. shares rose almost 4% Tuesday in a falling market as three analysts moved to raise their stock price targets and played down the competitive threat to the streaming giant from rivals. Analysts remain bullish on Netflix despite looming streaming challenges from Walt Disney Co. and other media giants. GBH Insights’ head of technology research Daniel Ives raised the company’s price target to $500 from $400 on Tuesday, citing a recent GBH survey showing that Netflix (NFLX) subscribers watch the streaming service twice the amount of time of its nearest competitors.

5 Top Stock Trades for Wednesday Morning
On Monday morning, investors came out strong and bought the trade-war dip. On Tuesday, it took more convincing, but bulls reluctantly bid U.S. equities off their lows. That’s why on days like this, I like to look for strength, which you’ll see in our top stock trades below.Top Stock Trades for Tomorrow No. 1: Netflix (NFLX)

Why Analysts Have Stayed Bullish on Netflix
Netflix (NFLX) has seen its stock nearly double this year after two stellar quarters, with subscriber growth beating analysts’ estimates on both occasions. The latest surge came after Goldman Sachs analyst Heath Terry raised his price target on the stock from $390 to $490. Netflix has informed investors that it expects to continue to generate negative cash flow over the next few years, which suggests that the company will continue to put cash toward creating content to attract more subscribers.

Gaming Is a Potentially Huge Catalyst for Facebook, Inc. Stock
A few months ago, social media giant Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) was sputtering out of control on data privacy concerns and hit rock bottom around $150. After all, the only thing Facebook stock has done over the past several months is string together multiple long-term growth catalysts, the sum of which have put those data privacy concerns to rest and powered the stock to all-time highs right below $200. Facebook Gaming, which has long been a nascent business oozing with potential for Facebook, is now starting to make some serious moves to put it on par with Twitch, the live streaming platform owned by Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN).

Why Media M&A Is No Threat to Netflix: Guggenheim
AT&T Inc. ( T) now owns Time Warner (now WarnerMedia), parent of HBO, and has announced plans to shell out more cash to create new blockbuster shows like "Game of Thrones." Meanwhile, Comcast Corp. ( CMSCA) is vying for key assets of Twenty-First Century Fox Inc. ( FOXA), bidding against Walt Disney Co. ( DIS), who last year cut ties with Netflix to launch its own streaming service. “It is more likely that Netflix will further surprise and delight customers with incremental functionality and experiences (like set-top-box partnerships and gaming) than it is that incumbent media companies will return to share gains in audience levels,” wrote bulls at Guggenheim.
