“RENEW 2018 is part of our overall Water for Tomorrow® Program which consists of projects designed to strengthen our water distribution infrastructure for continued service reliability, resiliency and water quality,” said Dennis Doll President and Chief Executive Officer. “Water is such a precious natural resource.  Our RENEW 2018 Program will help us better preserve our water resources by identifying leaks in the project area.  By being proactive and replacing aging infrastructure on a planned schedule -- there’s less likelihood of future disruptive and costly emergency repairs down the road,” added Doll.

Middlesex Water Company Announces Retirement of Director John R. Middleton, M.D. From Its Board
Middlesex Water Company (MSEX), a provider of water, wastewater and related services in New Jersey and Delaware, today announced the retirement of  John R. Middleton, M.D., whose term as a director concluded with the Annual Meeting of Shareholders held May 22, 2018.  Dr. Middleton served Middlesex Water for nineteen years, serving as a member of the Board’s Audit, Compensation, Corporate Governance & Nominating Committees.  Dr. Middleton is engaged in private practice with ID Care, New Jersey’s largest network of Infectious Disease Specialists providing comprehensive specialized consultations, care and education.  He was named to the Middlesex Board in 1999. “As a protector of public health, the customers and shareholders of Middlesex Water Company have benefitted greatly from Dr. Middleton’s counsel,” said Middlesex Water Chairman, President and CEO Dennis W. Doll.   “For nearly two decades, he has played an active role in helping the company navigate many complex water and wastewater challenges.  His insights, integrity, leadership in the areas of public health/emergency preparedness are all attributes reflective of notable achievement.  On behalf of the Board of Directors, officers and employees of the Middlesex Water family of companies, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Middleton for his dedication and service to our Company,” said Doll.

Middlesex Water Company Breaks Ground on $52 Million Western Transmission Main
The 42-inch diameter main is being installed to provide critical backup water supply and ensure resiliency in the Company’s water distribution system.  This $52 million project, known as the Western Transmission Main, will supplement the company’s existing transmission main which serves a population of approximately 300,000 in eastern Middlesex County, NJ and help mitigate risks associated with aging infrastructure. “We’re commencing construction of this supplementary transmission main along the western portion of our New Jersey service territory to harden our infrastructure and ensure an adequate back-up water supply to meet daily basic needs,” said Dennis Doll, Chairman, CEO and President of Middlesex Water.  “The Western Transmission Main is one of several projects under our $300 million investment initiative known as Water For Tomorrow® designed to strengthen water distribution infrastructure and ensure greater reliability, safety and service quality for current and future generations of water users,” added Doll.
